DROWNING in the edit...
The writing on the provisionally entitled My Adventures in Cyberspace II is now complete. The novel will be called "Drowning" and is currently being edited ready for publication in 2012. You can purchase the intial book in the trilogy My Adventures in Cyberspace on Amazon here.

My editor and I are now running a monthly spoken word night in Sheffield called Northern Lights, on the second Tuesday of every month. But gardening and Top Gear can keep a man happy for only so long. Especially with a Mother-in-Law as voluptuous and gorgeous as Julia, a lonely widow who hasn't had sex for five years.

Love is the only path to take, amongst the many confusing and tangled branches of paths which present themselves to us every day of our lives.
But sometimes we choose to go down the wrong path, and sometimes, that’s what makes life all the more entertaining; our failures, our insecurities, listening to the subversive whispers in our ears of Edgar Allen Poe’s ‘Imp of the Perverse’.
The bar is crowded, packed with hysterical people frothing at the mouth and baying for my blood.
I cannot see a face, I cannot hear a sound.
For this is cyberspace.
I have arrived, and instinctively I know that whilst following my natural inclination to dole out love, these fuckers are going to get punished. This is the gold rush, they have inadvertently drawn me into the fray, and I’m going to get those gold nuggets and leave them incredulous and furious.
Fuck ‘em.
Synopsis
MY ADVENTURES IN CYBERSPACE, by Jude Calvert-Toulmin, is set in Sheffield and on an internet discussion forum, back in the pioneering days of forums at the turn of the millennium.
Inspired by the author's life, it is a humorous, erotic dark tale of an unhappily married mother of three, Dominique DuBois, who falls in love with a man on a forum, without knowing what he looks like, merely by dint of his writing. Think Brief Encounter in cyberspace.

Pop Icons exhibition - Sade prints available to buy online
The photographs of Sade I took back in 1982, before she found international fame and was just one of my mates on the London music scene are now available to purchase online as signed prints from a limited edition of 50 here. Sade's new 2010 album Soldier of Love has quite deservedly topped the US and European charts.
My Sade prints were exhibited at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London last summer as part of Royal Society of British Sculptors member Guy Portelli's Pop Icons exhibition. The exhibition, with my photographs, is now on tour nationally with the possibility of a future global tour.
The exhibition was a huge success, and you can see some shots of the preparation and the private views here.

Love the book!
I really enjoyed it and read it cover to cover very quickly. As soon as I started it, I didn't put it down until I'd finished it.
Anything published by the author is almost always awful. Thank God this was the exception!
It is notoriously difficult to write about sex well. I don't think there are any other genres within a genre that get awards for bad writing apart from descriptions of sex in books.
I'm amazed that this is a first effort because it is very confidently written. I particularly liked the fact that Calvert-Toulmin didn't succumb to the temptation of punishing the Kate character for being such a brat; the resolving of her situation was both mature and realistic.
An excellent first novel in a genre that is daunting for a first-time author.
Another thing I absolutely adore is the frontispiece ex libris design - it's great! I wish other books did that.
I'm looking forward to reading My Adventures in Cyberspace now.
