Newsletter Issue 3 - December 2008
Details of the official book launch for Mother-in-Law, Son-in-Law will be announced in January 2009. It's going to be a chilled out Spring afternoon full of fun and frolicks at Sheffield's coolest city centre bar...
Cover banned from Facebook
That's right, the cover to the book has been removed from Facebook due to its naughtiness. Hence the lame censored cover version you see here. The discussion about the banning on facebook is here.
Early reviews...
Early pre-book launch reader reviews are being emailed in on a regular basis. Here are some excerpts...
"Like literary Viagra"
"...gave me a hard on within five minutes!"
"a story about people, not about sex"
"a very funny, very erotic book"
"I applaud your perfect insight into the mind of a breast fetishist. You are spot on. Believe me, I know! "
"loved the way his 'Yorkshireness' is presented, not for laughs, but as a subversion of the usual order."
"By page 49 I had come three times, and my husband was a very happy man!!!"
"manages to walk the line between a tragi-comic look at the disintegration of a marriage and the erotically charged development of a relationship."
"me and my friends love it lol! i sent u a myspace message asking u if i could buy 2 copies, im buying one for my friend for xmas and i may have spilt a drink over my moms so i need to replace that. x" (Josh Holdsworth, one of Sheffield's hottest sponsored skaters.)
"This book is making me SO horny! (and I didn’t really need any help in that department) "
"To say I was aroused is a bit of an understatement - let's just say I'm glad I live alone."
You can buy Mother-in-Law, Son-in-Law here on Amazon, where there is already a fairly lengthy reader review.
New Pearls of Poison page and Guestbook
There is a new page on the Fleur De Lys site entitled Pearls of Poison, where readers send in overheard or witnessed bitching about Fleur De Lys director and author Jude Calvert-Toulmin, which are then posted for everyone's entertainment.
It's the most popular page on the site along with the new Guestbook, which is fast turning into an online counselling page for men in love with their Mothers-in-Law.
A word from the Fleur De Lys PA, Honey Higginbotham
Er. I'm off to the office Christmas party. Not our own office party which is JCT and a few of her mates down the local pub so will be dull, dull dull, but a superior and classy office party that's being held in a private member's club in Mayfair. I've nicked a few of JCT's business cards, the prototype ones, without her photo on, so I can blag my way in to what is bound to be a fascinating party as it will be full of company directors, authors and publishers. Woopsidoo.
Happy Yuletide everyone! :)
Love Honey xxx
