A Festive Yuletide To You All
"There in the Temple, carved in wood,
The image of great Odin stood,
And other gods, with Thor supreme among them."
As early as two thousand years before Christ Yuletide was celebrated by the Aryans. They were sun worshipers and believed the sun was born each morning, rode across the upper world, and sank into his grave at night.
However you want to celebrate the ancient mid-winter feast, I hope you all manage to bite your lip and put on a big smile! :)
Batten Down The Hatches
My Adventures in Cyberspace II, the sequel to My Adventures in Cyberspace, is not going to write itself and is still only half way through completion, so for the rest of the winter I will be sacking off social events (such as getting married, see below) and staying in and writing. The plan is for editing to take place during the late spring and summer of twenty ten and for the novel to be released in the winter.
Social News - I'm Now Mrs Calvert-Toulmin-Trevelyan
The tale of how my husband Brian and I first fell in love on a discussion forum in late 2001, without knowing what one another looked like or what the other did for a living, was told in My Adventures in Cyberspace. Eight years later and we have finally become man and wife. You can see photos at my photobucket.com account. Pixelwitch JaQ's pictures are here, Ian Smith's photos are here as well as some taken by various guests as I left my point and shoot camera lying around for people to use.
We walked in to White Horses, signed the register to Groove Armada's At The River and danced out to Fairport Convention's Come All Ye. The spring newsletter will contain a link to the rest of the wedding photographs by Pixelwitch Pictures, Dave Simmonite and Simon Jacques, and the wedding video once I've edited it and put it on my vimeo channel.
One Door Shuts, Another Opens.
They say you judge a success by the number of failures behind them, and we've had our first failure (apart from not making a million quid or the Amazon top ten in our first year of trading that is.) An American artist was very keen for us to sign him up to publish the first book of his work, but got cold feet at the last minute at the thought of actually having to sign contracts. So instead of spending the next few months working on his book, I'll be working on mine, not for money but for art darlings, art, and I believe everything has happened for the right reason. "There are no shopping malls in the graveyard." (other original quotes of mine can be found on my blog here.)
A word from the Fleur De Lys PA, Honey Higginbotham
The fat fuck is now married. Good. Now I can flirt with her husband when he pops into the office to deliver her monthly supply of lingerie which of course she can't fit into any more. I'll just show him my collection instead.
